CJSwap

A while back, Jose Forget developed a notation system for CJ. It was very detailed as far as positioning, and was in my opinion hard to decipher. It never really caught on sadly. I decided to write my own system a while back after being inspired by this attempt. The product of my effort: CJSwap. I do not think that it will ever become nearly as popular as SiteSwap, but it will help me describe long combos quickly and easily, at least on this site. Here is the system:

Rules

Holds are represented in all caps. The most common will have abbreviations.

Already understood combo(like the Back-back butterfly) will be shown inside parentheses with the starting and ending holds at the beginning and end respectively.

Transfers, rolls, BFs, etc... are represented in all lowercase. The most common will have abbreviations.

Multiple balls will be represented as rows or separated by "|". Each row will represent a ball.

"-" will show the that space in time is occupied by the last stated move.

Simple Abbreviations

C = Cradle
P = Palm
tr = Transfer
r = Roll
t = Toss

Examples

Butterfly = C-bf-P-bf-C
Back-back Pass = C-tr-C
Palm-palm Pass = P-tr-P
Back-back Butterfly combo = P-bf-C-tr-C-bf-P OR P(Back-back BF Combo)P
2b Symmetrical Butterflies = P-bf-C | P-bf-C
2b Asymmetrical Butterflies = P-bf-C | C-bf-P
